Confessional Subscription

Since most of the contributors to this site are either ordained officers or candidates for ministry in the Presbyterian Church in America (or related denominations), it is important to make a disclaimer about confessional subscription. Internet blogs are by nature forums where various issues can be discussed and debated openly. There is nothing wrong with this sort of public disagreement, provided that it is done in a spirit of love, respect, and humility. However, one of the goals of this site is to provide a forum for debate on issues within the bounds of confessional orthodoxy.

Except in cases where contributors have registered differences/exceptions with their respective presbyteries, we ask readers to presume our fidelity to the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Larger Catechism, and the Shorter Catechism. If any content on this site is perceived to be contrary to these confessional standards, we ask the reader first to consider whether he/she has rightly understood the author’s intended meaning. Then, when appropriate or necessary, we ask that the reader contact contributors privately to give them an opportunity for clarification or correction.

It should also be noted that we occasionally invite guest writers to post on our site. Such writers are not held to the same confessional standards as our regular contributors. At the same time, the opinions expressed by our guest writers do not necessarily reflect those of the regular contributors of Allkirk Network. This rule also applies to posts linking to external sources; unless explicitly stated otherwise, readers should not presume that we endorse all views expressed on such external sources.
